Description of the sessions
Tony Ogogo offers up to 4 sessions within the school day (depending on subject areas). A day's residency usually starts with an Introductory Assembly for the whole school or Year Group (optional).
He has a cross-curricular approach to his work with emphasis on 'low-tech' usage; workshops are delivered on a flexible basis involving hands-on practical activities for pupils and the staff.
Workshop activities may include:
- African mask-making techniques;
- Traditional coiling;
- Coil-for-coil;
- Benin;
- Sculptural techniques;
- Jewellery design/making techniques;
- Storytelling – West African tales, legends and myths;
- Rhythm, music and dance movements;
- African Tie & Dye techniques.
