Resources Libraries
From rainforests to deserts, Benin to Bogotá…
NEAD’s Resources Libraries are located in our King’s Lynn office and a brand new one at our Great Yarmouth office. The libraries lend teaching materials including teaching packs, books, DVDs, CDs, traditional costumes and artefact boxes. They carry an extensive range to use in educational environments to explore each area of the global dimension. Whether it’s rainforests or deserts, Benin or Bogotá, feasts or famines, trade or travel there’s sure to be a teaching pack to complement your teaching. A valuable resource for teachers, our library provides opportunities to enrich work in the classroom and bring a wealth of new information to pupils.
How the libraries work
Items can be borrowed for a pre-agreed amount of time. You can search for library items on this website’s catalogue and then reserve them, agree postage, delivery or collection by telephoning or emailing the librarian for your local library. Inna Da Costa looks after the King’s Lynn library and Rosie Walker and Sandy Betlem look after the Great Yarmouth library. Lost items will be invoiced for replacement.
In order to borrow materials, you must become a member of NEAD. Membership Forms are available for you to download and complete. Please return your completed form to us at the address on the form (also on our Contact page).
Membership enables all staff at your school or organisation to borrow materials for loan periods of half a school term per time. As a member of NEAD, you will also receive the NEAD Newsletter, issued three times per year.
Further information about these and other membership options and prices available to both organisations and individuals can be found on the Become a Member page.
