Our Resources Centre
NEAD keeps a library of educational resources for both classroom use and professional development. For the schoolteacher, every curriculum area is covered, with particular emphasis on Global Citizenship. NEAD also maintains a wide network of contacts with artists, performers and others — World Voices — who can visit your school, club or organisation.
Sale of Teaching Resources
Although our library continues, NEAD is no longer selling teaching resources.
Our sales of resources have for some time been mainly by mail order, and we have come to the conclusion that rather than us buying-in teaching resources and selling them on, it’s more efficient for you to go straight to the publishers and distributors to buy them direct.
Visit the following websites:
- Global Dimension: bringing the world to the classroom, the Global Dimension website is an essential tool for teachers, providing a comprehensive guide to teaching resources, books, films, posters and websites with a global dimension. From climate change to poverty, water to fair trade, you can find resources from a wide range of publishers for all age groups and subjects.
- Oxfam Education: offers a huge range of ideas, resources and support for developing the global dimension in the classroom and the whole school. All of the resources support Education for Global Citizenship — helping pupils understand their world and make a positive difference in it. Oxfam is probably the biggest stockist of development education resources, selling resources produced by a whole range of publishers, agencies, and Development Education Centres.
- Mantralingua: for dual-language and multi-lingual resources for ages 2 to 14 years, including: books in 52 languages, talking dictionary, talkingpen books, MFL learning packs, Literacy packs, posters and friezes, CDROMs, audio CDs, interactive e-books, boardgames, storytelling toys…
- Books & More: stocks a big range of multicultural, Black History and anti-racism books. Telephone 01274 599101, email booksandmore@btconnect.com.
NEAD-produced resources
NEAD’s own resources, Labour behind the Label Poster Set and The Real Price of Cotton can both be bought from Oxfam.

World Voices
NEAD’s World Voices service provides a network of contacts with artists and performers who are available to work in schools or visit your organisation — musicians, storytellers, puppeteers, dancers, artists and craftspeople, for example — as well as people who can run workshops on development issues.
Each World Voice has a page on our website which describes who they are, what they can offer, and how to contact them.
