NEAD educates on global justice & equality issues and how they connect locally, to Norfolk.    NEAD highlights the links — environmental, economic, cultural, historical & causal — between people, and the inequalities within our world. We then promotes ways that we ALL, as global citizens, can take informed action to make a difference at school, at home and in our community.

This awareness raising and action taking centres around key Global Dimension concepts:    Human Rights, Global Citizenship, Diversity, Sustainable Development, Social Justice, Conflict Resolution, Values & Perceptions and, of course, Interdependence.

NEAD — Working locally for global justice and equality

NEAD provides packaged or bespoke educational activities and training for teachers, schools & educators, as well as funded schools work based projects, curriculum linked resources, and quick, expert sign-posting support for educators (including youth, faith, community and other groups and organisations). 

NEAD is supported by its members. NEAD Membership gives discounts on Support Packages for schools, gives access to information and educational resources (online and in our Resources Libraries), and gives you three NEAD newsletters per year.

NEAD has a vibrant facebook community, which we would love you to be part of. Other online offerings include videos on our You Tube channel, photos on Flickr and our interactive members' map, all showing the spread of our activities.

NEAD has offices in Norwich, with satellite offices in Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn.

Operating for almost forty years, NEAD is the founding centre of a network of 40+ Development Education Centres across the UK, and we are a part of the Think Global group. NEAD's name originated from 'Norfolk Education & Action for Development'.

NEAD boasts Mark Thomas as a Patron, embodying the active, intelligent, questioning... sometimes cheeky, in good humour and spirit... approach of NEAD itself.
