Working in our community
NEAD offers a number of services to community groups (such as youth groups, faith groups, and women’s groups), public service providers and others to both raise awareness and encourage an inclusion of global issues in work practices.
We Are Norfolk
We Are Norfolk is a 3-year project in which the key focus is developing educational opportunities and activities to address the current local issue of the large numbers of new community members in the West Norfolk area, and the associated tensions this can bring.
Developing Local Partnerships for Global Events
Working with others, NEAD provides support for local initiatives and national events such as Black History Month, Fair Trade Fortnight and Refugee Week through its Developing Local Partnerships for Global Events project.
World Voices and speakers for community groups
We maintain a contact list of people — artists, performers and others — who can come to speak or to run participatory sessions on a wide range of local and global development issues. To find an appropriate visitor for your needs, search the World Voices database.
The NEAD Resources Centre
NEAD’s Resources Centre stocks teaching and learning materials for loan to raise awareness and encourage responsible action. These include resources appropriate for use with youth and adult groups such as simulations, games, role-plays and photopacks on a wide range of topics and localities.
