Make A Donation
At the moment, donations and membership revenues combined account for less than 2% of our income. We need to push this percentage up - please help to suport our work!
Your donation is invaluable to NEAD, whether you are able to give:
- a one-off donation of any size — donate using PayPal above, OR by sending a cheque (payable to 'NEAD')/ bringing cash to our offices;
- regularly by Standing Order, allowing us to plan ahead with secure knowledge of future income. Do this by completing the Membership Form’s Standing Order section;
- your time and skills in organising or being involved in a fund-raising event.
A donation of £35 enables us to work from our Development Education Centre premises for 1 day.
Schools project work costs us £63,000 per year. That is £300 per day! Any contribution towards this at all is wonderful!
Donations are Unrestricted Income
Unrestricted Income, such as donations, allows NEAD to do work other than that tied to projects. Much of this is our core work: things which are important to NEAD’s principles and aims, as well as the necessary ongoing work that ensures our continued existence. Examples of our core work include schools’ work, the operation of our library of teaching resources, as well as maintenance of the building we occupy, satisfying Health & Safety requirements, and so on.
If you complete a Gift Aid declaration with your donation, then we can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to you, by reclaiming the tax. Fantastic!
Legacies
Legacies are a significant way to support NEAD. This means donating in your Will money or items of value, again free of tax. Your solicitor will be able to advise you about how to make a Will, or add a codicil to your existing Will. Recent legacies have enabled us to update our IT systems, for example, and literally keep on working. This is an amazing way to impact the future and allow us to keep working for justice and equality. We are grateful for the generosity of donations made in this way.
NEAD supporters donate their time too
We welcome fund-raising ideas from our supporters too. Volunteers have come up with and carried through their own ideas, with support from NEAD. Recently volunteers coordinated excellent gigs (from punk to klezmer!), bring-and-buy sales, an auction with corporate-donated lots, and a garden Midsummer Supper. We hope that more will be planned for the future.
If you want to get involved, please email Lynne Janes (NEAD Administrator/Volunteer Coordinator).
