Working locally for global justice and equality
NEAD stands for Norfolk Education & Action for Development.
NEAD explores global justice & equality issues, linking them to local issues and life-style. We promote ways that we, as global citizens, can take informed action to make a difference to the bigger picture. At school, at home and in our community. We unpack the links between people, and the inequalities within our world — environmental, economic, cultural, historical & causal.
We work around key 'Global Dimension' concepts: Social Justice, Global Citizenship, Diversity, Sustainable Development, Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, Values & Perceptions and Interdependence.
Connecting Norfolk with Global Issues —
Environment. Migration. Trade. International Development. UK Aid
NEAD works with youth groups and with schools, teachers and other educators. We provide educational support through both fully-funded projects or bespoke, costed packages. Our website provides FREE curriculum-linked resources, and expert sign-posting.
Learn more about NEAD through our active facebook and twitter communities, discover videos on our You Tube channel, beautiful photos on Flickr and the spread of our activites on our interactive members' map.
NEAD is a charity supported by its members. Membership gives discounts on any services, access to further information and educational resources in the private-members' area of this website, as well as periodical NEAD News updates throughout the year.
NEAD has a city centre office in Norwich, at 17-19 St John Maddermarket, in The Charing Cross Centre.
Operating for over forty years, NEAD is the founder of a network of 40+ Development Education Centres across the UK. We are part of both the Consortium of Development Education Centres and Think Global - delivering Global Thinking together.
