We live in an interdependent world
Everyone is affected by global issues such as trade, conflict, global warming, racism and many others. They touch our lives, no matter where we live and work.
We are all connected
NEAD (Norfolk Education & Action for Development) is a Development Education Centre (DEC) based in Norfolk (UK). We work locally towards a more just and equal world by promoting awareness and action on global issues. Our aim is to show the links — environmental, economic, cultural, historical — which exist between people; and by doing so, raise awareness of the inequalities in our world, and increase understanding of their causes. We also aim to promote ways in which all of us can take action to create a more just and sustainable world.
NEAD — Working locally for global justice and equality
NEAD undertakes a wide range of educational activities with schools, youth groups, and community and other organisations.
We are a membership organisation. Becoming a member of NEAD is a great way to support our work and activities, keep up-to-date with our news, and access information on development issues. Members can borrow resources from both our own Resources Library and that of the Greenhouse, and receive three newsletters per year.
A member of the Development Education Association (DEA), NEAD is one of a network of more than forty DECs throughout the UK.
NEAD has it’s head office in Norwich, with satellite offices in King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth. We have been operating for more than thirty years.
